@atomicpoet@calckey.social @yoyoel@macaw.social @socialmedianews@venera.social Meh. I believe Twitter’s days of influence will come crashing down this year starting in June when Instagram launches their Twitter killer (which will potentially kill off adoption for BlueSky too).

While I have my doubts about Instagram’s intentions, I think their entrance will encourage mass adoption of ActivityPub, & we will probably see more people (especially celebrities) opt to host their own content while interacting with Instagram’s version. We will probably witness celebrities & academics move away from Twitter then.

Elon also is desperate to recoup some of the money he foolishly spent on the platform.
