Once it is implemented and supported by Calckey, ALL updated Calckey instances will support it by default. Once other fediverse adds support to it, ALL updated instances of THAT software will support it be default. Getting Mastodon to add support for it will be the biggy, but once it does this will pretty much become a standard, and individual users will not really be able to bipass it unless they self-host and are prepared to hack the software, but given they'd likely be blocked once found out, it is hard to see why they would even bother to go to the effort.
