Are there also men who have a problem with biting their fingernails compulsively or just women? None of my guy friends have ever complained about biting their fingernails, but this is obviously a biased sample. I've met many women with that problem and I had it too until I was medicated for anxiety (still have a bit of a problem but has improved about 75%. I can now at least stop once I notice it).

Google says it's slightly more common in boys than girls, but can't find anything about a sex difference in adulthood.

Anyone an expert on this? Or just interesting anecdotes? Wrong answers accepted.
