@pho4cexa ive had adults my age, when i was working in fastfood and they were all first language chinese speakers who would say "watch out" or "move" which sounded super rude in my brain but i had to remind myself that they are just translating "让一下‘’ in their head.

often these kinds of things are because the context in which they are said and the pragmatics (linguistic pragmatics) havent been something theyve run into and havent been corrected on yet (probably because people 1/2)
