Conversations were had in the comments to these posts and she participated in them. She had a conversation with <a href="https://rage.love/@maloki">@maloki</a> , and then mentioned Maloki in her apology post thanking her for helping her understand how what she said was wrong. My intention with saying what | said above was to show to others that one of the reasons | have made the decision to leave the fediverse is because of these types scenarios that hurt deeply. That did not happen. | think it's an important distinction between "I've done something racist" vs i am a racist" (as in: someone who knowingly and deliberately holds racist beliefs and acts on them). Most of us white folks do and say racist things all the time, often without even knowing. That's a big part of what whiteness is, and it's something each of us needs to confront. I'm not going to continue this argument, if you're just framing yourself as a victim here and twist my words around to fit that narrative. Its what | am doing with the Fediverse right now. On the topic of Racism | am dedicating a large portion of my time to unpacking this in depth. | am re-reading How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi again. | started it a few weeks ago. It really goes deep in the topic of how systemic the problem is. | honestly struggle to communicate about it sometimes because | am still learning and trying to get better every day. | specifically like how the book distinguishes between "not racist" and "anti racist" which is what | believe you are trying to do, that is, be outwardly active against racism as you see it. | think its a great stance, and | am trying to do more of it myself. | apologize if | took your words out of context, or if my paraphrasing didn't do your posts justice.
