Now my [white] mother is tall, broadly build woman (or was, she's old now and shrinking) with a very deep voice. On the phone people call her sir. As a girl around 12/13 she was in the church choir and put with men, because her voice was already a baritone. No one upon seeing her questions her sex.

In the link below there's a video where Griner speaks. This is where the doubts are coming from and why other aspect of her physique are brought into the discussion. My mother's voice, though not stereotype feminine, still sounds enough feminine, compared to the distinct (imo) male voice of Griner.

I will say, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt until a test shows otherwise, that she is in fact male like Semenya. I'm not gonna drop a sister, because she doesn't fit the bill cause of a chromosome defect that still makes her female (unlike semenya).
