Infrastructure is far too chaotic and big to construct any meaningful test. People can have years of experience with various UNIX systems beyond Linux. As long as they have the ability to learn they'll be fine with Linux. Oh no, this person doesn't have kubernetes experience.. but maybe they managed Sun hardware and have been doing hardware partitioning for decades.

Just because a person failed your test doesn't mean they won't work out.
