PSA: if you ever have a top-loading washing machine add water during the spin cycle (thus leaving your clothes sopping wet), it's because the load is too uneven!
idk why they add water to try to fix this; it's never helped in my experience, but it is a super confounding problem if you don't know what's going on.
open it up, even it out; give it some spins with your hand and watch to make sure it stays pretty centered. adjust more as needed. once it seems even, do a "drain and spin" and watch/listen for it to be uneven again.
this had been a mystery for years until i learned very recently, so now I'm dedicated to raising awareness of this incredibly niche well-intentioned but infuriating feature-turned-bug.
