@ryo I think Nostr protocol is fine, from a technical perspective. It is certainly better than LBRY, Hive etc. Applications can be a bit unpolished now, but if something is broken developers will fix it over time.
My biggest problem with Nostr is exactly culture, and it's a specific strain of crypto culture I'm very familiar with, from the days when I was more focused on Ethereum. Basically, bitcoiners have just discovered web3. They are trying to rebuild everything on top of their blockchain, completely ignoring the stuff that was created before them. This is done in a hurry and with little respect to security, privacy and decentralization. Jack and laser eyes are throwing money on it to attract developers, and this seems to be working, but this also creates a lot of fake activity. If Jack pulls the rug many projects will be abandoned in an instant. In the end everyone sells out and assimilates into a corporate world.
I've seen it all in Ethereum ecosystem, and I just can't tolerate this shit anymore.
