29 years ago today, a little book about the Internet was released in Canada.
In 3 weeks, it was a #1 national bestseller and my life forever changed. I went on to co-author 34 books about the Internet in a 7-year time span and sold over a million books.
You never know when the magic of lightning is going to strike you!
By the time the book was released, I had already been online for 11 years. People were trying to understand what it all meant - and I quickly developed a career on stage explaining it in a way that made sense. Today, I continue to do that, albeit in the broader context of the future; this little book led to a career where I'm represented by the same speaking agents as Barack and Michelle Obama, among others. I've had audiences of 10,000+ in Las Vegas, and have traveled the world sharing my insight. NASA has had me in (twice) to talk to a room full of astronauts about ... the future.
It all began when I got online in 1982 and then wrote a little book that came out on this day, March 5, 1994.
Magic. Lightning. It's always possible!
It's a hell of a story. You can read it here.
