I worked in Chicago. Driving into work, I could take city streets or highway. Anywhere the highway was backed up, I could exit, drive a couple blocks, jump back on after the delay.
I thought moving (back) to Ohio, driving would be simple after Chicago traffic.
Ohio highway, next exit 3+ miles, there are no side streets to the next on-ramp.
If there is a backup, you are stuck.
