My smartphone's alarm failed to make any noise this morning. Yes, it was set. Yet, it was actually going off. But it just wouldn't make any noise. The alarm volume was maxed out and "do not disturb" was turned off. I couldn't get it to make _any_ alarm noises in the settings, either. I had to reboot my phone to get it to make any alarm noises, which I've never had to do in my 12 years of using a smartphone for this.

Guess it's time to get a traditional alarm clock since smartphones aren't reliable enough for my purposes.
