@whvholst @pettter we agree on the fact that the sampling decision, and that large players should not be able to just steamroll the legal system like that, of course.

But if unlicensed sampling is illegal, letting Microsoft and OpenAI "train" stuff on copyrighted works without getting a license should also be illegal.

And to my simple non-legally-trained mind, it seems like *maybe* (I am not married to this idea!) this should be a new, separate field of licensing, so to speak.
