It’s not perfect, and it is early days, but as I near 40, I’ve lived through a few inflection points like this. You feel it in your gut.

Further, Mastodon is the thing that proves the value first, with federation, ActivityPub etc providing the foundation.

And then this surge of apps providing a layer of user experience I’ve never seen in open source before.
