Actually, I kind of get this guy now. It's important that the devs of whatever software you're using have sustainable ethics. Except in this case, Alex is the ethical dev. Let's say someone running a free speech Mastodon server reports an issue or just seeks help because they can't solve a problem. Do you think the Mastodon team would help them or just tell them to shut up? Would they let the person contribute?
I can imagine Mastodon turning away people they disapprove of. Soapbox, not so much.
