Matt HodgesI have loosely-formed and somewhat conflicting thoughts about how many of us discuss "owning your data" and the #fediverse. On one hand, the protocols do improve certain levels of individual ownership vs centralized and corporate options. On the other hand, the #ActivityPub protocol is specifically designed such that my data is necessarily duplicated to an unbounded an unknown number of not-owned-by-me entities. On the third hand, exponential distribution is a central essence of the internet.
