On December 13, 1937 the #Japanese captured the city of #Nanking. Following the capture of the city, a six-week reign of terror was exacted on the resident population, but more specifically the cities garrison force. According to the best scholarly estimates, it would seem between 3,400 to 9,530 civilians and 18,500-52,000 soldiers were killed.
