Of course you need to learn things for anything you want to use these days, but my point is that learning on Windows or Mac OS has a support structure in place and countless websites, etc. designed to help you learn. Linux on the other hand has a lot of stuff out there but it is not always written to newby friendly or for the non-tech person. Furthermore because people are getting paid to make Windows or Mac OS easier to use they are.
