The Constitution has amendments because society changes.
The men who wrote and signed the Constitution coached it in terms so that it would be fluid, and grow with the Nation it governed. Unfortunately, they did not know that the people it governed would be so dumbed down by those who’s greed for power and wealth overshadowed their empathy and sense of justice, that it would be used as a weapon, enslaving those it was meant to serve, rather than a tool for the greater good.
