@hazlin you've spoken about how the powerful gain their power through unholy means, means the rest of us are not privvy to let alone whether we'd be willing to employ them. but i remain convinced that the powerful are not so different from the powerless, that they are merely good charlatans.
now, nobody's saying you deserve to be fleeced if somebody fleeces you. indeed, what kind of "high-trust society" are we trying to build where we jump to the defense of those who violate trust?
but you must accept that to be fleeced, you had to permit yourself to be decieved. that need not be a mark on your character for it to be material to the discussion.
