An American author has launched a fresh attack on JK Rowling over her gender-critical views, saying those who engage with her work are "directly supporting efforts at the erasure of trans people". The Harry Potter writer has become a hate figure to trans activists, who believe that men who identify as women are actually women. Plugging his new book, 'Hollywood, Ending', Green said he found it "very, very sad" that Rowling was standing up for women's sex-based rights.

It has been suggested Rowling is funding Ms Peggie's case, although her office has not confirmed this. The employment tribunal claim against the Royal College of Nursing continues on Friday.
