@Humpleupagus I agree with the deterrence route. I don't actually think she's "mentally ill" in the sense she has an actual "disorder".

I think she got overly stressed out and the medications + her own personality/stress response caused her to snap.

If anything, I think the "medical professionals" who were "helping" her are culpable in some sense. Not a single one of them stopped her and asked "wait, exactly how many medications are you know/have you been trying" They literally just kept giving her more.
