@virtuous_sloth When the first PQ MNAs were elected in 1970, they refused to take the oath, and the National Assembly refused to let them sit. #RenéLévesque told them to take the oath, and there was no question about their legitimacy thereafter.
This time is different because when the new PQ MNAs refused the oath, the National Assembly accepted them anyway. Later the National Assembly passed a law purporting to abolish the requirement of the Constitution for their members.
