- Embed this noticeSince I had to wipe my work laptop and install a Fedora/GNOME image, I thought I'd try to stay on it for a few days to see what the mainstream DE world is like nowadays. Everything feels smooth and so far better put together than I've expected, with two easily fixed gripes:
- No middle click paste. Fixed by running a command found in the first search link, that being a GitLab issue, but it's a stupid default. :bassi:
- No default terminal shortcut. Fixed by making a custom one, which a coworker had to help me with because the menu is ass-backwards and they didn't even bother having an unbound shorcut out of the box, unlike a... calculator. I digress.
As the music player I picked Clementine, which looks a bit out of place like it's 2010 but seems full of features, ranging from useful to cool to dumb, like a button that plays the HYPNOTOAD hum at full volume. One of the cool ones is called "Mood", which makes a colorful progress bar for each song. I don't get how they pick the colors, but the darker sections are obviously the quieter ones and it's kind of a neat breakdown of how a song progresses.
Also Tuba is a shit fedi client. Shame!
