And you can add billions of similar scenarios and some includes the loss of life.

The sharing of source code is only a thing if it's requested by the people using it (aka have a binary) for GPLv3, for AGPLv3 it's mandatory from the start when they use it (they don't have to request it) but you don't have to make it public in any case.

The GPL also has another advantage, this for of agreement is also the one that permits high trust society to develop, because parties can openly violate the social contract, thus identify on both end who is scum and who is not.
Unlike today where almost anything you buy you cannot know if you're gonna be poisoned/fucked or not.
