These photos show people who won show awards riding or walking their bikes up to claim their trophies. These are all bicycles chosen by the show judges for one "best of" category or another. The one ridden by the man in the LA Dodgers baseball cap was this year's Best in Show.
The guy in the Pinas Lowridaz jersey apparently was visiting from the Philippines. I'm not sure how the bike got there or if he was touring with it.
Indeed there were people who traveled far. I started a conversation with another photographer. He smiled and replied to me in French.
In the background of these photos is the History San Jose historical park. It's a functional museum lined with historic buildings and San Jose artifacts that have been saved from demolition, living on to tell the real story and culture of a city that most people only know as a caricature of the tech industry.
