The process is important. The process is what connects you to others. The learning you did collectively in school, the teaching you did for someone else, the work you accomplished with others as a team, the mastering of a trade through apprenticeship. The exchanges of thought, skills, ideas, and the conversations that happen inbetween them that convey emotion and humanity...these all shape our ideologies, how we perceive others, and establish empathy towards those around us.

Those in power who push generative AI know this and the results of their efforts are intentional. All the promises of machines replacing interactivity between us all the way down to outright offering companionship through personalized LLMs... they want to remove the most valuable thing we have as a species that makes us resilient: our interconnectedness.
