@monkey it might also be depressing if youre not a boomer idk. some people read it as depressing. some people read it as nihilist wisdom. i read it as telling of the inherent emptiness of the world but that Love cuts through it. i consider it the book that kinda made me break with evangelical christianity bc i found it to really resonate with me and tell of a love of real compassion rather than the nonsense “heaven” evangelicalism taught me about
