If your voting method can't allow a 3rd party to easily replace a bad party, you don't have a democracy. Get a better voting method that counts all of your votes but still gives everyone an equal say in the final round, like St Louis did Approval + top-2 runoff. STAR does it with slightly-more-complicated addition of a 5pt scale, auto top-2 runoff, in one ballot! No Ranked Choice follow-your-vote-through-this-plinko shell game needed. Proportional is a big word, but we can all do fractions.
