got the steam controller 2, its pretty good.
d-pad is much better than steam deck, still not great. i get a few wrong diagonals in super metroid walljumps, but whatever it's fine.
claw grip is uncomfortable, but the extra grip buttons and trackpads prevent needing to claw (almost) entirely. ]you can't press the bottom grip button with just your pinky, so you need to have 3 fingers on the handle and one on the trigger/bumper. feels good for me but ymmv.
the trackpads are too small for using a mouse at 4k. for everything else it's a good size. the ds4/5 was a nice emergency mouse, this is a much nicer emergency mouse. havent played an FPS with it yet but it'll probably suck.
overall very very happy with the controller, wonderful for couch gaming
