- Embed this notice@sampler @p Quotes aren't inherently bad as such but the mechanism they're implemented in break discussion in a way that's understandable why people don't like it. The majority of quotes I see in the wild don't even add any additional commentary (of or of not the benign kind) but could've easily instead just been a reply and break off the thread for no reason. Nobody loses out if I just shove it in a reply and piece thread back together: and if for some reason they do, they can't stop you anyway since it's fedi.

I also don't get the point of this, I get why people want it but I think it's stupid. Why join a social network just to be anti-social? Might as well go to Discord if you just wanna private ERP and send links to each other.
