The Gridcase is interesting because all of its software is in ROM: you install shit by plugging more ROM chips into the board. They were used in space, like, hard to get much more stable than completely solid-state. They still run a few hundred dollars to a little over a thousand last time I checked, because they still work, tough machines, etc.
I am a fan of the DevTerm, personally.
