Everyone talks about Notepad integrating formatting and links and stuff, but nobody remembers when Windows also came with a tool called WordPad, that did the same thing but better (and no AI thankfully).
It's better because not only you can do the same things as in Notepad, but you could do more things like color stuff, select different fonts, and use OLE to embed stuff into your document like images or calendars or charts or even flash animations, depending on what you had installed on your system.
Notepad only has AI slop generation.
