Will it reduce L. E. stopping vehicles via more violent methods they already use (stop strips, PIT maneuvers, bullets.)

Smuggling Attempt Disrupted in Cameron County | 3/24/26 TxDPS Troopers shut down a dangerous human smuggling and narcotics operation after a smuggler driving a white Ford Escape led troopers on a high-speed pursuit in Cameron County. During the pursuit, a trooper executed a PIT maneuver, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop. Multiple occupants bailed out, but troopers quickly took action. The driver, Anna Lilia Arriaga of Pflugerville, TX, and front seat passenger, Dilon Butler of Brownsville, TX, were both arrested and charged with: ▪️ Possession of Marijuana ▪️ Human Smuggling ▪️ Evading Arrest Troopers seized 3 bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 145 lbs, which—along with the illegal immigrants—had just crossed the Rio Grande through criminal organizations operating out of Mexico. Two illegal immigrants were referred to U.S. Border Patrol. Arriaga and Butler were transported to the Cameron County Jail. This case highlights the ongoing commitment of Texas DPS in disrupting criminal smuggling networks and protecting our communities. The mission continues. Lt. Chris Olivarez
