The segway was a slow clumsy expensive e-bike with nowhere to sit, and no pedals the make it go farther or up hills. It also makes the rider stand out as someone who clearly can't afford a car, if they were to attempt any actual trip without a car. Its only practical application is writing parking tickets and collecting litter downtown, which would be more efficient without the rider.
