projectmoon@c401mh3@tech.lgbt LinuxFromScratch is just Gentoo with unnecessary steps. Gentoo also officially supports systemd too. But it's also trivial to add arbitrary patches to any package in portage. I run Gentoo + OpenRC on my personal laptop, work laptop, and desktop. (And Gentoo + systemd on old work laptop... which I should probably update)
