Social interactions with neurotypicals can be a minefield for us. Adding emotionally potent identity politics ordinance to that minefield, can make social life not merely anxiety-inducing, but existentially terrifying.

So yeah, my hackles get raised when I come across the term "mansplaining". Like @gilles, I'm open to the possibility there's a little bit of bruised male ego in that. But I don't think that's mainly why it bothers me.
