The tightest clamp in the industry, Holo, has still led to pervasive yuribaiting and people desperately trying to ignore the male side of the brand being cringe eboys. It's avoided politics mostly, but it's not a perfect solution. If I'm watching an indie girlfailure goonette, I know it. If I'm watching a feckless failed OF girl, she isn't bothering to pretend like Clara. But then it's a question of the product you want to be watching.

And there are downsides to indies via the influence of their peers, like Saruei, who was a horny-ish fleshtuber artist before being an awkward chuuba, but her whore friends have continuously pushed her more toward the whore side. I still prefer the indie generally since that all happens out in the open.
