are you talking about how it's surveillance capitalists that control (proprietary) social media that cause these social illnesses misattributed to social media or to their algorithms? or are you rejecting the notion that they shape and influence human behavior through algorithmic controls? your description doesn't make that clear. on purpose, I suppose, but I'm curious ;-)
