@enigmatico chances are they think it'll go on forever (like they did in the .com bubble) or not thinking about the future at all (e.g. the 1929 stock market crash). The ones who do probably assume they'll get a government bailout like in 2008.

Either way it's just the usual display of short sighted greed.
