Jason SelfDecember 1 is World AIDS Day, a day to remember those who have died from AIDS and raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic. The World Health Organization estimates that since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 80 million people have been infected with HIV, and more than 40 million have died. HIV infection is the cause of AIDS, and it's still spreading. As long as this continues AIDS will continue to claim lives.
