Clicking a link and not being able to easily interact with the content is kind of annoying, I would bet money that nobody is using the interaction popup and typing their instance domain every time, and even knowing the actual solution (opening your instance and pasting the url into search), it's steps that should very much be automated.

Click icon on browser toolbar -> open on: (one of your instance names, preferably not just mastodon)
