every time i see a livestreamer or youtuber doing something stupid for money i think of the science fiction author jeff noon who in 1997 imagined a future where anyone could buy a fly that they could program to buzz around the neighbourhood either filming everyone for dirt or shouting personal advertisements in tiny genetically modified voices
