I also have a asus I got from a buddy's family when he passed. It only has 4gb ram, 2 cores, and 64gb emmc, but it boots fast, and has a microsd port for extra drive space. It also has 2 USB 3 ports and hdmi. I think the newer versions run around $200.

It's not bad for just doing simple browsing, etc. I used it as a portable terminal when working on my network because it's so light. It doesn't have ethernet though, so I use a dongle.

With only 4gb, windows would crunch. But I only use about 500mb idle with my Linux build.
