@kirbyderg I'm not sure of how I should read your tone towards me. I don't know if I am being scolded for using a bad phrase, or if I'm being sensitive & you are simply sharing how intercultural expectations have improved since my time.
If it is the latter: I apologize. I've been scolded a few times from people who misunderstood my point who start comments with "or ..." comments. And please feel free to ignore the rest of this comment.
If it is the former: the phrase *was* meaningful to me (as an Off-white kid) who dreamed that one day I might "fit in." It was supposed to be about America becoming a better place for my (Brown, multi-disabled) younger sibling.
