In highschool I was on a tactical team for a Sheriff’s Explorer program. We trained with SWAT, we competed at a big multi-state tactical event, we went on calls. It was fucking awesome. A large part of the training focused on harm reduction during violent action. Enter the shoot house and make sure you don’t ace the guy holding a phone. Be sure you don’t kill a hostage when the perp swaps clothes. Consider who’s behind that wall. You know, responsible things.
