Aren’t FCC licenses just for use of broadcast frequencies? And the licenses for those frequencies are split among hundreds of affiliates across the country, owned by various companies?
Multi-channel cable providers also need a license, I think, but afaik, you don’t need a license to have a cable channel or an internet streaming service.
So, how many folks would be affected if ABC could no longer broadcast over the frequencies allotted to WABC-TV in New York?
