There’s a lot of hate for modern art, but think of it like this: If you’ve seen every realistic painting there is to see, at the highest level it can be done, what is there left to do? Do you just look at more realistic paintings for the next 1000 years? Yeah they’re pretty, but do they say anything anymore? Do you truly enjoy it? A lot of people pine for the bottom painting, but if that was all you had anywhere, I think you could understand why people would try to deviate.
