There's basically no public communication when a release is going to happen besides maybe a post from one of the maintainers that's easy to miss. Currently those who run develop to catch bugs have no idea when to merge upstream besides checking the commit history every few weeks and guessing.

The whole 2.7.0 Oban blowing up and follows refusing to work 90% of the time debacle could have been prevented by it, if enough instances admins actually knew when to test stuff.
