@Impossible_PhD Making higher education and especially broad liberal arts education that encourages critical thinking inaccessible to the working classes and especially women and minorities is the point. Conservatives (with substantial help from so-called liberals) have been chipping away at it since the Reagan era. This is just an acceleration and laying bare of what the plan has been for decades as they cut budgets and shifted what was left away from academic instruction.
